The family created the office of marble in 1564 to regulate the marble mining industry. It is faux marble. Since this time it has now become a sink vanity. I painted the top of this sideboard 6 years ago using my faux marble painting technique.

When installed properly using high grade mildew resistant silicone your shower becomes virtually leak proof. So cultured marble contains real marble dust but is not itself natural marble. There is no need for grout or sealers with a cultured marble shower. A faux marble look can be created on any surface by using a feather to mimic the veins that appear in authentic marble and a sea sponge to blend the paint colors together.

The city of massa in particular saw much of its plan. Read all about it. Faux marble tiles can be purchased from a kitchen supply store or flooring store. Doing these two things has kept my faux painted carrara marble sideboard top looking like new.

Carrara marble has been used since the time of ancient rome and it was called the luni marble. In the 17th and 18th centuries the marble quarries were monitored by the cybo and malaspina families who ruled over massa and carrara. Many consumers don t want cultured marble in their homes because of its reputation for being an old product that cracks easily. Overall as an industry we are trying to get away from the term cultured marble.

Cultured marble is a man made material blending pulverized natural marble with synthetic resins and dyes then coated with a clear hard protective gel.
